RIMLE's Annual Winter Conference will be on Saturday, January 29, 2011.  Look for the forthcoming announcement on the changing face of this annual event.  This is the Rhode Island middle level educator's opportunity to see what practitioners in the field are doing to enhance middle level achievement for all students.

About RIMLE

Formed in 1991 with the encouragement of the Rhode Island Department of Education and a grant from the Carnegie Foundation, the Rhode Island Middle Level Educators (RIMLE) continues to play an important role in promoting effective middle level education. It provides a vehicle for exchanging ideas, encourages partnerships with other organizations, and supports teachers and administrators in their ongoing efforts to make certain all young adolescents reach high standards. RIMLE's mission is to promote state wide advocacy in support of a quality education for young adolescents ages ten to fifteen and promote professional growth opportunities to those who serve these youngsters.

RIMLE's current membership includes more than seventy public, Catholic, and independent schools and higher education institutions representing over 3,500 educators. A Board of Directors composed of twenty-one members oversees the policymaking for the organization. The programs and initiatives of RIMLE are carried out by a part-time executive director and two part-time college student administrative assistants.

We, as a voice for middle level in Rhode Island, are presently advocating for the inclusion of middle level in the high school reform regulation. It is imperative that the middle level child be understood for who they are and what measures need to be taken to ensure their success in the future.
