The Sixth Annual RIMLE Winter Conference will be held on January 31, 2009, at Archie Cole Middle School on 100 Cedar Avenue in East Greenwich. This annual Saturday event will feature both a leadership strand and a practical applications strand that will highlight Rhode Island practitioners. Past conference attendees have provided rave reviews of the sessions and the format of the conference day. We look forward to seeing you at the conference. Registration materials will be sent to the schools at the beginning of the new school year.

RIMLE officers and office staff continue to support the work of the RIMLE Board in its advocacy for our middle level students and educators. The revisions to the secondary regulations are nearing completion and will be posted once the final vote has been taken for the Rhode Island Board of Regents.

In addition to the Winter Update is posted on the website, a spring newsletter has been mailed to the schools. This spring edition will be posted on the website.

A new summer Advisory course will be offered to the membership beginning on June 24th, presented by Dr. John Niska. This course will carry three graduate Rhode Island College credits and will be located at North Cumberland Middle School on 400 Nate Whipple Highway. 

RIMLE will again host with NELMS a Two Day Teaming Institute this summer. Save the dates of August 12 and 13 for this event which will be located at the Tiverton Middle School on 10 Quintal Drive. 

Look for the fall announcements on our Differentiation of Instruction courses.

Coming again in the fall will be Roundtables that will feature Advisory and Differentiation opportunities.
